See the state of the house before.
Larry went on with his life. He was getting quite good at tinkering and did some of the work himself.
Once the mains water and electricity had been connected, he started redecorating.
The external walls had to be completely repointed, and the windows were replaced. Larry disliked net curtains and so used blinds for the larger windows and shutters for the small ones.
The old silo and water tower were removed, and he had an electric windmill put in, so that he could be independent, or at least save some money on his bills.
Getting quite good at tinkering, he replaced the bathroom suite himself. He chose an unusual Egyptian-style toilet, and a large diagonal bath in a matching Egyptian yellow marble finish.
He repainted and resurfaced the old kitchen cabinets, which were perfectly sound. A new cooker and modern appliances helped, and matching sticky plastic on a new fridge blended it in with the rest of the room!
A bar for drinks, because he thought of himself as a great host.
The workroom. The computer started to smoke but having no experience of Power Supply Units, he left that to the repairman.
"Now all I need is a new install of Linux and I'm all set! And maybe one day I'll figure out how to use that draughting board."
The sitting area. The plant is soot-covered from the last time there was a fire.
Uh oh... I love the way the game TELLS you "A fire has started on your home lot."
As if you can't hear the alarm. I think the whole TOWN can hear this alarm.
But Larry has bought himself his very own fire extinguisher, and is usually congratulated by the firewomen when they are called out by the alarm, for extinguishing it before they arrive. "The price I pay for living so far out of town, I guess."
Larry has a girlfriend, Pippsi.
And a lovely boudoir-style bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable vibrating bed! But so far he hasn't got past a cuddle.
Larry still needs to work on the land around the house; but for now, he is taking a rest from his endeavours, saving up for a new car, a holiday and maybe even an engagement ring.
